For just two months—August and September—this section of the park opens to the public, giving visitors a front-row seat to nature’s most spectacular performance. Rolling fields come alive in brilliant colour, carpeted in orange, white, purple, and blue. Bees buzz, birds sing, and if the weather plays along, the flowers open their faces toward the sun in a dazzling display.

But there’s a secret: the flowers only open on warm, sunny days. On grey or misty mornings, they stay closed—making the clear days even more precious and unforgettable. It’s a short window. Blink, and you’ll miss it.

The Postberg section of the park is accessible only during August and September. You can either drive the scenic loop or book a guided day hike with SANParks—a wonderful way to learn more about the native flora and fauna that call this region home.
